Rise of the Guardians: SHIFT Comic
Maddy Moore
About Me
I am the writer and illustrator of the SHIFT comic. When I am older, I want to be a storyboard artist for the DreamWorks company. While I absolutely loved Rise of the Guardians, the animation was simply brilliant. I felt afterword like the story could go farther. There was so much more to do with the characters. I know that DreamWorks is not planning on making another movie, so I took the matter into my own hands. My dream is to one day get the comic published, but for now, I hope you enjoy it here.
What program do I use to make the comic?
I usually start on paper with a rough outline of the page and what I want the composition to look like. From there, I open my tablet (specifically iPad) and open a program called ArtStudio to make every page. A full colored page with text and a background usually takes me two hours, give or take.
Where did the ideas come from?
The idea for Mori came from an idea I've had for a long time. I always played with the idea of a villain who could change into someone you know. There is something very eerie about not being able to trust someone, especially your friends. His name 'Mori' is one of the Latin roots, 'Mort', 'Mori', 'Mors' meaning death.
What's Next?
SHIFT is about 250 total pages, and hopefully I can find a way to publish it some day. In the future I plan on making another full colored comic, but with my own characters. Everything really depends on the response I get from this comic. I'm going to try to keep on drawing, and hopefully keep improving.
What's your Question?
